Summary
Students are acquainted with the theoretical training to the types of sports flying equipment and their operation in the country. Furthermore acquire basic theoretical assumptions for the selected focus. The practical training is conducted familiarization course in the chosen focus. Training is conducted in cooperation with the University sports club in VSB Technical University of Ostrava experienced instructors (Mgr. Karel Janko, Ing. Kamil Konecny) as of the PL-3Letecké Aircraft Association CR
Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit
Students will know types of sport flying equipment (SLZ) and rules of their operation. They will have a basic theoretical assumptions of the chosen kind of SLZ. They gets basic experiences of flying on them.
Course Contents
1st Theoretical training - paragliding
2nd Introduction to sport flying devices and their management
3. Introduction to the glider
4. Introduction to harness
5th Daily inspection and pre-flight check
6th Five-point inspection before the start
7th Rescue System
8th Introduction to basic aerodynamic principles of flight
9th Practical Exercise - Paragliding
a) Repetition of ground training
b) Practice setting up the canopy to the attitude - forwards or facing the canopy by meteorological conditions
c) Training to start unleashing
d) Training of straight flight and turns 90 ° and 180 °
