Summary
In the course, students will get acquainted with the specifics of vehicle production, stages of production and production planning procedures. The following areas are addressed:
- Introduction to production planning in the automotive industry
- Digital factory
- Planning of presses, welding shops, paint shops, assembly, components (gearboxes, motors, batteries)
- Industry 4.0
- Logistics, digitization in production

Teaching is provided by employees of Škoda auto a.s.
Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit
Students are able to describe the pre-production and production stages of vehicles. They describe the duration of the stages, their content and methods of production planning. They know the methods of vehicle production
Course Contents
1. Introduction to production planning in the automotive industry
2. Digital factory (extended by simulations)
3. Planning of presses (including production of tools)
4. Planning of welding shops
5. Paint shop planning
6. Assembly planning
7. Component planning (gearboxes, motors, batteries)
8. Industry 4.0
9. Logistics planning - pre-serial logistics
10. Logistics planning - serial logistics, including foreign plants
11. Cyber security
12. Digitization in production
