Summary
The subject project work is focused on the construction of transport machines, lifting, handling and process equipment. An integral part are the strength calculations needed to check the construction and design proposals, including optimization calculations of transport capacity, batch size, substance quantities.
Based on the assigned topic, each student independently performs the design and necessary technological and strength calculations, which are further used to design parts or a whole of transport machines, handling equipment or lifting equipment.
Graduates of the course solve technological and strength calculations needed for the final processing of structural and design proposals. Processing of the design solution is assumed in a 3D modeler on a PC. Students submit the final solution electronically in 2D in DWG format.
The topic of the assignment of the annual project in the subject Project work is assigned with regard to the topic of the final thesis. Emphasis is placed on computational methods and graphic work. Knowledge of working on a PC is assumed.
Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit
During the completion of the course, students will acquire these basic skills - knowledge of design work on a PC (Inventor, AutoCad); technical thinking; creativity; communication skills (the need for mutual cooperation or cooperation with the leader of the survey for the final implementation of the structural unit) as well as organizational skills (the need to work with websites and search for offered 3D models from manufacturers or suppliers).
Students will master the transferable and applicable requirements needed for quality design work: active approach, creative thinking, effective communication, cooperation, creativity and cooperation, flexibility, performance, independence, problem-solving ability, planning and organizing work, leadership and teamwork, workload management, discovery and orientation in information, lifelong learning.
The project work is a year project, which is assigned with regard to the student's chosen topic of the final bachelor's thesis. Emphasis is placed on computational methods and graphic work. Knowledge of working on a PC is assumed.
Course Contents
1) Individual assignment of partial tasks to individual students.
2) Elaboration of an overview of the current state according to the assigned topic and project search.
3) Processing of obtained documents - search (books, company literature, patents, magazines, ČSN, drawing documentation).
4) Elaboration of technological and capacity calculations on a given topic in the field of transport equipment. The first check of the processing status of partial tasks.
5) Development of 2D and 3D design of the assigned topic in the field of transport equipment.
6) Elaboration of strength calculations of selected machine parts of the processed structural design.
7-12) Elaboration and completion of 2D drawing documentation and 3D construction design of the assigned topic in the field of transport equipment. Second check of the processing status of partial tasks.
13-14) Defense of the created assembly drawing, ie 2D drawing documentation in the form of a presentation in the Power Point of the assigned topic from the field of transport equipment. Verification of the correctness of the performed strength calculations of selected machine parts of the processed structural design.

Each student solves and consults his individual assignment of a semester project in the subject Project work continuously with the head of the exercise and also especially with the head of the bachelor's thesis.
Completion of a lecture on the creation of technical reports, citations and the basics of presentation of technical projects. At the end of the semester
there will be a presentation of the achieved results in the Power Point of the project work, the so-called bachelor's project.
