Summary
After completing the course, the student will gain a basic overview of jet engines. They will get acquainted with individual types of jet engines and their operation. They will get acquainted with the design and operation of aircraft jet engines (LPM).
Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the basic structural elements of jet engines and their operation.
Course Contents
1. Historical development of jet engines, division of jet engines.
2. Rocket engines.
3. Bladeless jet engines.
4. Design of single-shaft vane jet motors, PV-diagram.
5. Multi-shaft, bypass motors, construction, activity.
6. Input devices of aircraft jet engines.
7. Compressor of aircraft jet engines.
8. Combustion chamber of aircraft jet engines.
9. Turbine of aircraft jet engines.
10. Output device of aircraft jet engines, additional combustion.
11. Fuel system and starting of aircraft jet engines.
12. Lubrication system of aircraft jet engines.
13. Cooling of jet engines, defrosting system, fire protection system, drainage of water from engines.
14. Operating cycles and maintenance of aircraft jet engines.
