Summary
The course is based on module 022, Annex II, EC Decision No. 2016/008 / R - Basic of Engineering Technology in Aviation. The content of the course is focused on knowledge of the basics of engineering technology. Basic knowledge of engineering technology is applied to a specific area of ​​aviation. The student will acquire competencies related to the issue of basic knowledge in the field of production, use and testing of materials that are used not only in the aerospace industry.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit
The student will gain an overview and be able to orientate in issues related to the issue of basic knowledge in the field of production, use and testing of materials that are used not only in the aerospace industry.
Course Contents
1. Production of iron and processing of steels, light alloys and non-ferrous materials.
2. Refining of materials and their heat treatment and subsequent use in the aviation industry.
3. Casting, forming.
4. Heat treatment of materials and changes in their mechanical properties.
5. Mechanical properties of materials and their testing.
6. Methods of material separation.
7. Demountable ways of joining materials.
8. Non-removable methods of joining materials on transport and civil aircraft.
9. Machining of materials.
10. Anticorrosive surface treatment of materials in aviation.
11. Testing of materials for use in aircraft.
12. Hull - types of structures, bar structures.
13. Wings - production, used materials and their use.
14. Stabilization surfaces - division, properties and materials.
