Summary
The subject is connected with lessons form the subjects:„Mathematics,
Technology I, II, and Assembly Technology. The students adopt basic notions
and definitions of metrology, principles of complete measuring data
processing, the determination actual size for determination probability,
measuring methods, distance measurement, angle measuring, evaluation surface
roughness, measuring parts. The theoretical knowledge is practically verified
in the laboratory.
Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit
Expand the knowledges of metrology princeples, become acquainted with basic law document in the metrology field – law about metrology as amended by the act no. 119/2000.
Expand and practically apply pieces of knowledge form check of basic parameter of mechanical compoments on concrete exercises.
Statistically analyse of measured data, measurement uncertainty, measurement result.
Course Contents
The program of lectures:

1. The importance of metrology as a science, its status and distribution. Basic concepts. Units.
2. Metrology law in the harvest of Act No. 119/2000. Institutions engaged in metrology - the contents of activity
3. Errors of measurement uncertainty (measurement data)
4. Basic principles of measuring devices (mechanical, electrical, optical, pneumatic, ...)
5. Metrology length (length standards, standard gauge, gauges). Interference of light and its use in metrology
6. Metrology plane angle (units, gauges, control methods)
7. Control and measurement of selected parameters of machine parts (threads, gears)
8. The quality of machined surface, surface roughness, (basic parameters, control methods, ...)
9. Requirements for metrology laboratories

Exercises outline:

Exercise No. 1: Introductory exercise to acquaint students with the program and organization of training, safety training for working with instruments in the laboratory,
Exercise No. 2: Principles of evaluation results - practice
Exercise No.3-8: Measurement Task No. 1 to 6, including a protocol for measuring
Exercise No. 9: Completion of reports, consultations memorized substance, credit.

Task List:
Task 1: Direct and indirect method of measuring
Task 2: Checking the dimensional accuracy of holes
Task 3: Checking the cones
Task 4: Checking the external thread (třídrátková method)
Task 5: Checking the roller (flat) calibers
Task 6: Check roughness

Internal guidelines: Students are required to furnish to the exercises in this course work gloves and slippers for metrological measurements.
