Summary |

This subject adds education of dimensioning of dynamic stressed machine parts.
Students learn about fatigue properties of materials of some machine parts, with characteristic working loads and with methods of determine the life. |
Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit |

Make students acquainted with basic principles and design methods of a cyclic loading mechanical parts in light of infinity or time fatique. |

1. Introduction to fatigue of metals.
2. Mechanical properties of metals under monotone and cyclic load.
3. Fragile and fatigue fractures.
4. Fatigue curves and their parameters.
5. Correction of fatigue limit parts.
6. Notching impact on fatigue limit.
7. Middle stress impact on fatigue limit.
8. Fatigue computations - unlimited life time.
9. Fatigue computations - limited technical life.
10. Statistics and probability in fatigue - theoretical basics.
11. Fatigue tests and their statistical data evaluation.
12. Fatigue computations of a typical machinery parts.
13. Load spectra and decomposition.
