water service and related structures ( terrestrial, motoring etc. ).

The student who completes the course should be able:
- to define and apply basic information and knowledge about building materials used in water construction, transport construction and structural engineering
- to prepare, defend and describe simple project documentation for a house.

Curriculum:
1. Building materials and structures used commonly in civil engineering.
2. Concrete and concrete structures.
3. Steel and timber structures.
4. Documentation of constructions. Module coordination of dimensions in constructions. General fields of building production.
5. Structural systems of buildings.
6. Foundations of constructions. Protection of buildings against earth insulation.
7. Brick walls, monolithic walls and assembled walls.
8. Ceiling structures. Partition walls. Staircases. Building roofing.
9. Transport constructions. Classification of roads. Categories of roads and motorways. Road transport routes. Directional aspects of roads.
10. Longitudinal and transversal cross-section through road bodies. Dewatering. Soil body. Composition of road structures. Construction of roads. Local and urban roads.
11. Bridges, tunnels, supporting walls and airports.
12. Railway constructions and airports.
13. Water facilities - weiers, dams.
14. Technical requirements for waterworks.
Framework programme of the seminars:
1. Introduction into reading of drawings in construction business. Classification of constructions. Basic formats of drawings. Forms of drawing layouts.
2. Project documentation for constructions. Classification of a building unit. Technical report and scope of structural engineering projects.
3. Imaging of building structures in structural engineering. Principles for imaging of building units. Method of imaging. Imaging of views and ground plans. Laying an imaginary surface for cross-section and creation of a ground plan. Imaging of vertical cross-sections. Laying an imaginary surface for vertical cross-section.
4. Excavations and foundation of constructions. Drawing of excavations. Marking of figures. Dimensioning of excavations. Reading of excavation drawings. Foundations of constructions. Drawing of foundations. Drawing of ditches in foundations. Dimensioning of foundations and ditches.
5. Vertical constructions. Drawing and reading of vertical constructions. Improvement of surfaces, windows and doors. Marking, drawing and dimensioning of chimney and ventilation openings.
6. Marking, drawing and dimensioning of window and door openings. Drawing and reading of staircase drawings. Drawing staircase ground plans. Drawing a vertical cross-section of staircases. Reading of staircase drawings.
