Summary |
---|
The course focuses on the regeneration of individual types of abandoned areas, methods, principles of restoration, best practices (military, agricultural and industrial areas in settlements and open countryside). Principles of revitalization of water bodies and watercourses and individual remediation and reclamation - technology, reclamation sowing methods are studied. |
Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit |

The aim is to prepare and to educate specialists focused on the regeneration of derelict areas - brownfields. Students will be able to identify and develop a procedure for revitalization of brownfields, will be able to handle and defend solutions. Knowledge is verified in the discussion during the presentation of best practices. |
Course Contents |
---|
1. Reclamation of abandoned sites - methods, principles, best practices (military, agricultural and industrial areas in settlements and in the open countryside).
2. Revitalization of ponds and streams. Reclamation - technologies.
3. Project Management – Plan of brownfield regeneration. SWOT analysis of brownfields. The basic structure of the plan for brownfield regeneration. Coordination of the revitalization processes including a timetable and management costs.
4. Principles of using trees and herbs - reclamation crop rotation practices. Methods and principles of design vegetation elements in settlements and in the landscape - abandoned areas and the restoration of their functions.
