Summary |
---|
Editing and designing of analogue and digital cartographic works, planar and spatial. Methods of creating of map compilation manuscript and essential technological procedures for preparing their publication. Basic orientation in digital national and world cartographic products and data collections, including the SDI / INSPIRE and CORINE databases. Orientation knowledge of national legislation in cartographic production. History and Present of Analog and Digital Printing Techniques. |
Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit |

The student will acquire basic theoretical knowledge of cartographic production and production of analogue and digital cartographic works on the background of current printing and typographic technologies. He will get a basic overview of national and world digital cartographic works.
By using digital technology can easily create publishing original of topographic/thematic maps. |

1. Editorial work and design in the creation and production of cartographic works.
2. Creation of compilation and publishing originals of planar and spatial cartographic works.
3. Copying and copying procedures.
4. Types of printing, offset printing technology.
5. Color theory, their use in cartography.
6. Processing of tone and text templates for printing.
7. Digital technology of cartographic production and digital printing.
8. Post-print work, bookbinding of maps and atlases.
9. Hardware and software security for cartographic production and production.
10. INSPIRE (SDI).
11. World, European and national cartographic displays (links to elevation and positional systems).
12. National and world digital cartographic works and data collections.
13. Archiving and evaluation of cartographic works.
