Subject concerns theory and application of linear mathematical programming, transportation, project management, inventory management, queuing analysis, and multi-criteria decision making.
Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit
Analysing decision-making processes, formulating their economic and mathematical models, solving the models by using management science methods, and interpreting results.

1. Management science, management science modelling techniques
2. Steps of management problems solving, economic and mathematical model
3. Linear programming, economic and mathematical model of linear programming
problem
4. Graphical interpretation of principal terms, graphical solution of linear
programming problem
5. Solution of linear programming problem by simplex method
6. Economic and mathematical model of transportation problem
7. Determination of initial basic solution of transportation problem
8. Finding the optimal solution for the transportation problem
9. Principal terms of graph theory, optimisation in graphs
10. Project management, CPM and PERT
11. Characteristics of inventory management models and their classification
12. Deterministic models of inventory management
13. Multiple criteria decision making - methods for determining criteria weights
14. Multiple criteria decision making - methods of variant evaluation
