Student Relax Zone

Student Relax Zone
In building C there is now Student Relax Zone open for foreign as well as Czech students

On Tuesday, September 29, 2020, the ceremonial opening of the Student Relax Zone, the so-called Student Relax Zone, took place in the premises of the building C.

The ceremonial opening was attended by the Rector prof. RNDr. Václav Snášel, CSc., Vice-Rector for Studies Ing. Zdenka Chmelikova, Ph.D. and Vice-Rector for Development and Investment Construction doc. Ing. and Ing. Frantisek Kuda, CSc.

In a short introductory speech, the Rector emphasized the importance of such spaces where students can meet in a pleasant environment and study together, as well as meet their foreign colleagues.

Vice-Rector Chmelíková mentioned that the idea for the renovation of the premises in building C came from the University International Office. Although it was originally intended as one of the goals of a project, which unfortunately did not work out, these activities are important for the university management. From the point of view of internationalization, it is important to improve the environment of our university not only for Czech but also for foreign students.

Vice-Rector Kuda mentioned that the assignment for the creation of designs for these premises was handed over to 5 students of the Department of Urban Engineering of the Faculty of Civil Engineering VSB-TUO in spring, under the guidance of their professor Ing. arch. Dagmar Kutá, Ph.D. Paed. IGIP. Reconstruction of both areas of the Relaxation Zone was carried out on the basis of the winning design of a student of the Faculty of Civil Engineering Bc. Lenka Raková.

After that, both rooms were symbolically opened by cutting the ribbon and are now fully available to our and foreign students.
