Informal learning - max. 60% of credits gained in prior lifelong learning can be recognized, as determined by the Dean of the Faculty.

Finished higher education in Bachelor's degree programme.
Regulations:
The Czech educational system is regulated by the Higher Education Act (Act 111/1998). Studies at VSB-TUO are regulated by the Statute of VSB – Technical University of Ostrava.
Profile of the Branch
The aim of the specialization is to prepare qualified business economics experts who will be able to understand the factors that affect the success of the company and will be able to organize, analyze, and develop the activities of the enterprise. They will be able to manage various functions and processes, exercise managerial functions at middle and senior management levels but also be able to handle operations for starting and running their own business. The curriculum is designed and structured, so that the knowledge and skills of the graduates is adequate for positions in various types of businesses, both in terms of the scope of business activities (manufacturing companies, services, virtual companies) as well as in terms of their size: e.g., business economist, the middle and upper level management, specialists in professional services (e.g., planning, controlling, quality, logistics), entrepreneur, advisor in the areas of economics and business management, specialists in various business associations.

Knowledge:
The expertise of the graduates: Curriculum content is dedicated to obtain knowledge in the areas of: - Corporate economics and financial management; - Diagnosis of the company and its performance; - Management of large corporations; - Logistics management, including supply chain management; - Quality management; - Consulting in the field of economics and business management; - Various forms of business including the international environment; - Establishing, managing and developing own business in the digital environment; - Strategic planning and management; - Innovation management in an enterprise; - Business legislation; - Methods of managerial decision-making.
Skills:
- Informed decision-making in the field of corporate economics and financial management; - Identifying, analyzing and resolving corporate issues; - Planning and management of business processes; - Implementation of strategic analysis and creation of strategic plans; - Solving problems using methods of managerial decision-making; - Establishment and management of an enterprise; - Implementation of business diagnostics and recognition of potentials for improvement; - Applying procedures and methods for improving process quality and logistics; - Evaluation of investment projects; - Application of statistical analysis on internal and external business data with the support of specialized software; - Application of the legislation in the business.
General competencies:
Use of the acquired knowledge and skills to solve practical business tasks; - Team organization and coordination to solve various business tasks, - Analyzing and benchmarking of problem solutions in order to select the optimal solution based on economic, organizational, managerial, objective and ethical criteria, - Identification of issues from corporate practice - developing study skills and interest in the subject of the possible scope of a subsequent doctoral's study, - Use of business expertise, skills, and general competences in at least one foreign language.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates with Examples
In general, graduates of the study specialization of Business Administration will be prepared for job positions as individual knowledge workers – specialists performing functions of managers at medium and higher levels. Typical job: - Business economist, - Manager of business, accounting and financial departments, - Quality manager and specialist, - Logistics manager and specialist, - Specialist in business associations, - Consultant in the field of economics and business management, - Individual entrepreneur.

Examination regulations, assesment and grading are described in the Study and Examination Rules.

Course block: Compulsory - all courses are compulsory.
Course block: Choice-compulsory - student has to choose at least one course from the list of courses.
Course block: Optional - student can choose any course from the list of courses.
 
IMPORTANT: Student has to select so many courses to reach 30 ECTS credits per semester. Rules in detail and convenient selection of courses can be consulted with the programmme director.
Bellow stated courses are assigned for the degree studies only. Students coming to VSB-TUO for an exchange stay must select courses from the List of courses for exchange students.
