Summary
The course is aimed at promoting business through professional consulting for entrepreneurs and managers. The course complements the course Consulting for entrepreneurs and managers “A”, with special focus on issues of management and economics of consultancy. The course is designed as a guide to the profession of internal or external consultants in business and management. The course is built on teamwork in the virtual (imaginary) consulting firm.
Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit
Students will learn about the professional consulting to managers in companies and for entrepreneurs who work together in managerial positions. Students will be able to evaluate their consulting skills base and to market their consulting firm. They will know how to promote their product and sell it. Also handle economic management of consulting firm and learn the basic skills of their own work of consultant.
Course Contents
1. Getting started in consultancy, basic definitions, self assesment.
2. Selection of consultancy type, establishment of consulting company.
3. Service marketing - marketing plan, market research, marketing aims, market segmentation.
4. 4P, product, make product tangible.
5. 4P - promotion, advertisement, distribution, time plan.
6. Services sale - business meetings, specific communication with the client, nature of the client, create offer, prices of services.
7. Economics of consulting firms - cost, cost structure, income, income
structure, financial goals.
8. Pricing, benchmarking, calculation of prices based on costs.
9. Quality management at consultancy company - consultancy and services, consulting business, quality management of consulting services.
10. Selected problems of management and economics of consulting firm, examples from practice.
11. Contemporary knowledge of the consulting practice - guidance on the market situation in the Czech Republic and the world, innovation of consulting services.
12. Practical consultancy in quality management - ISO, selected elements of a quality management consulting, marketing, pricing, innovation.
