Summary
The course is devoted to the deepening of the knowledge gained in Project and Grant Management A, concerning the theoretical framework, principles and application of project management methods focusing on subsidy management in EU and the Czech Republic. The aim of the course is to acquaint students with approaches to project preparation, implementation and management in EU conditions based on Project Cycle Management (PCM), Logical Framework Approach (LFA) and Cost-benefit analysis (CBA). Students will get an overview of the requirements of the project summary, the business plan (plan), the feasibility study and the financial plan of the project, financial analysis and CBA analysis.
Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit
1. To describe the fundamentals of Project Management.
2. To describe the phases of project management.
3. To characterize the application of project management in the development of firms and regions.
4. To explain the development and contents of key documents for project implementation.
5. To interpret the requirements for the structure of projects financed by EU Funds.
Course Contents
1. Project management framework - project management, program and portfolio of projects, the life cycle of the project, project management processes.
2. A global approach to project management - development of project management, project management in the international environment, professional project management organization, certification and project management standards.
3. Initiation of project intent - initialization and initiation processes, tools and techniques for project launch, pre-project documentation for initiation and project launch.
4. Planning the project's three-dimensional project - PMI planning processes, tools and techniques for project planning, project planning process documents.
5. Project Triple Project Planning II - Definition of Project Subject, Work Structure Structure (WBS), Project Time Planning (TBS), Project Resource Planning (CBS).
6. Documents for the financial and economic evaluation of projects - typology of documents in EU and CR subsidy titles, business plan, feasibility study, practical aspects of document processing.
7. Financial plan in documents for financial and economic evaluation of projects - general principles of the financial plan, practical starting points for financial plan creation, financial statements, resources, costs and revenues of the project, cash flows.
8. Investment decision making and methods of evaluation of investment project effectiveness - investment efficiency, static and dynamic methods of evaluating the effectiveness of investment projects in EU and CR conditions.
9. Financial analysis of investment projects - the general basis of the financial analysis, practical starting points for financial analysis of investment project co-financed from national and European sources.
10. Cost-benefit analysis as a tool for financial and economic evaluation of projects - theoretical bases of CBA, CBA investment projects, financial analysis, economic analysis, CBA as module MS2014 +.
11. Procurement in investment projects - basic concepts and typology of public contracts in EU and CR conditions, preparation and implementation of tenders, control of tenders.
12. Implementation of project plan co-financed from national and European sources - basic rules, project responsibility, project implementation requirements, project implementation processes, project implementation documents.
13. Risk analysis and management in projects co-financed from national and European sources - risk management, project risk typology, risk identification and evaluation, risk management strategies.
14. Monitoring, reporting and sustainability of projects co-financed from national and European sources - definition of basic concepts, monitoring processes, monitoring reports and their typology, project management and administration by donor provider and beneficiary.
