Summary
The course is focused on acquiring knowledge and skills in social and health policy. In addition to the principles, mechanisms and models applied in social and health policy, space is devoted to the bases, objectives and tools of current concepts applied in the Czech Republic. The emphasis is on the economic dimension of social and health policy.
Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit
After successfully completing the course, students will be able to understand:
- the causes of social and health policy;
- explain the nature of inequality in society and the concepts of poverty;
- explain the nature and purpose of individual social security programs;
- explain the purpose of employment policy;
- orient themselves in the pay and pay scales;
- orient the system of benefits and services;
- construct the social security and health insurance;
- define the types and forms of health care and methods of financing them;
- clarify the role of health policy actors and others.
