Qualification Requirements:
Finished secondary education with secondary school-leaving exam.
The Czech educational system is regulated by the Higher Education Act (Act 111/1998). Studies at VSB-TUO are regulated by the Statute of VSB – Technical University of Ostrava.
Profile of the Programme
The aim of the bachelor degree program Marketing is to educate experts with a wider economic and management background, with a primary focus on marketing, marketing communication and business.
Key Learning Outcomes

Graduate of study program Marketing displays the economic expertise (general economic overview, economic analysis of trends, legal orientation), managerial knowledge (knowledge of methods and tools for decision-making support), communication skills (presentation of findings, preparation for business meetings), IT knowledge and language skills (conversation in a foreign language, the ability to understand business text in a foreign language).
Graduate of Marketing bachelor program is able to analyse marketing environment and to identify market opportunities, to segment the market, to apply the concept of the marketing mix, to use marketing in the specific application areas, to conduct marketing research, to understand consumer behaviour, to apply the instruments of marketing communication, to formulate communication and media plan, to measure effectiveness of marketing communications, to create a website and simple graphic visuals.
General competencies:
Graduates of bachelor degree in Marketing is able to use information sources, to understand expert text, to analyse the problem, to find a way of solving the problem, to make a presentation of results, to defend their own approaches and conclusions and to communicate both in Czech and English languages.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates with Examples
Graduates can find application namely in the Czech production and trade companies, retail and wholesale, research agencies, in marketing communications departments of public institutions and commercial companies, in advertising agencies, media agencies, traditional media and online marketing companies.
