If you encounter inappropriate behaviour or discrimination while studying or working at the university and do not know how to resolve the unpleasant situation, you can contact the university ombudsman.

How can ombudsman help you?

  • acts as a consultant – if the solution to the problem is not within her power, she can direct you to a competent person,
  • students or employees can turn to her if they are unable to resolve the situation on their own,
  • contributes to a more effective resolution of conflicts and problems at the university and is an intermediary between the university management, teachers and students or employees and their superiors,
  • acts as a mediator dealing with, for example, sexual harassment, bullying,
  • can act as a therapist whom students and employees trust and who helps to view the problem objectively and independently,
  • may take action against illegal or anti-democratic behaviour by teachers or other university bodies,
  • intervenes against inaction and seeks to resolve conflict situations among employees, between employees and students, and among students,
  • submits possible suggestions for improvement and outputs contributing to the smooth operation of the university to the university management,
  • based on the findings, she initiates changes in internal regulations, documents and processes.
