Consortium Description

VSB – Technical University of Ostrava is part of a strong university community, which under the name URBAN RESEARCH AND EDUCATION KNOWLEDGE ALLIANCE, abbreviated U!REKA, brings together seven European higher education institutions taking significant steps to strengthen European goals in the field of climate neutrality, through a common long-term strategy for education, research, innovation and services to society.

The alliance was founded in 2016, expanded in 2019 and now includes approximately 123,000 students and 11,000 employees. Since its foundation, the alliance has successfully established cooperation in teaching, research, mobility initiatives and organizes joint research conferences. Its impact stretches across the four regions of the European Higher Education Area, covering approximately 14.4 million European citizens.

As an international applied research, innovation and education network with common goals, U!REKA’s ambition is to educate, shape and deliver the European professionals of tomorrow.
