The Centre for Energy and Environmental Technologies received the prestigious Green Phoenix Award in Poland for its long-term contribution to the development of eco-energy. The award was accepted by the director of the ENET Centre, doc. Ing. Lukáš Prokop, Ph.D.

The Centre for Energy and Environmental Technologies (CEET) at VŠB – TUO has long been one of Europe's leaders in low-carbon energy and sustainable energy research. It focuses primarily on modern energy technologies, hydrogen energy, circular economy, and applied research that connects academia with industrial practice. Thanks to its unique laboratories, top-notch teams of experts, and long-term international partnerships, CEET is one of the most important research centers of its kind not only in the Czech Republic but also in Europe.

At the 16th annual Polish Eco-Energy Festival in Opole, CEET was awarded the prestigious Green Phoenix (Zielony Feniks) prize in the category "Special Award for Lifetime Achievement in the Development of Eco-Energy," recognizing its long-term contribution and fundamental role in the development of eco-energy. This category recognizes organizations and individuals who have made a long-term and significant contribution to the development of sustainable energy, integrate innovation into practice, and help shape the future of clean energy solutions.

The Green Phoenix Award has been presented in Poland since 2009 and is one of the most prestigious awards in the field of green energy. The award is presented annually at a gala evening during the eco-energy festival and is given in categories dedicated to scientific, research, and technological contributions in the field of eco-energy and eco-mobility.

The award was accepted by Lukáš Prokop, Director of the ENET Centre, who commented on the event: "This award is confirmation of the long-term work of everyone at CEET who is dedicated to the development of sustainable energy. I take it as recognition not only for our professional activities, but also for our efforts to fulfill the vision of modern, clean, and safe energy for future generations. We greatly appreciate that our approach and results are visible and appreciated even beyond the borders of the Czech Republic."

Receiving the Green Phoenix Award confirms CEET's significant position in the international arena and supports its mission to further develop new technologies that will contribute to the transformation of the energy sector towards sustainability and a lower carbon footprint.
