New Energy Solutions for Industry: Scientific Insights, Technological Innnovation and the Future of Industrial Energy

CEET cordially invites you to an international specialist seminar focusing on the latest trends in industrial energy, decarbonisation and advanced energy technologies.

The seminar, organised by the project teams of REFRESH, MATUR, MEET and Cirk Arena, will take place from 24th to 26th August 2026 at the University Auditorium (UA 178), VSB – Technical University of Ostrava.

The event will bridge the latest scientific insights with technological innovations and practical industrial experience. The programme will feature lectures and expert discussions focusing on advanced energy storage technologies, new materials and photovoltaics, hydrogen technologies, next-generation nuclear energy, waste heat utilisation, artificial intelligence in the energy sector, carbon technologies, and the future transformation of energy systems.

The seminar will feature leading international experts from universities and research institutions, including:

  • Prof. Hatem Akbulut (Sakarya University, Türkiye)
  • Prof. Bart Van der Bruggen (KU Leuven, Belgium)
  • Prof. Didier Pribat (Laboratory of Physics of Interfaces and Thin Films, CNRS, Paris, France)
  • Dr. Martin Foldyna (Laboratory of Physics of Interfaces and Thin Films, CNRS, Paris, France)
  • Dr. Andrea Sorrentino (Institute for Polymers, Composites and Biomaterials, CNR, Portici, Italy)
  • Prof. Tuğrul Çetinkaya (NESSTEC Energy & Surface Technologies Inc., Türkiye)

The programme will also include practical workshops held in the laboratories of the CPIT-TL1 building at VSB-TUO:

  • Polymer composites for energy-related applications
  • Fatigue of materials
  • Battery components, cell assembly, and electrochemical testing
  • Spectroscopic ellipsometry characterization of nanomaterials and thin films
  • Optics in practice: advanced sensors and security applications

Join us to discuss the future of energy, discover the latest technologies, and establish collaborations with experts from both academia and industry.

To attend the lectures and workshops, participants are required to register in advance via the online form.

We look forward to meeting you.
