An excess of vehicles and high density of traffic lead to the overstrain of transport routes and frequent road surface damage. However, repair and maintenance costs may be reduced and traffic fluency may be improved through precautions measures. A new technology developed at VSB – Technical University of Ostrava, which has several advantages over currently available systems, may be used to prevent damage and reduce costs. Using the software, it is possible to identify the passage of a vehicle and its size, and thus distinguish a personal car from a truck or lorry. Among the advantages there are lower installation costs, minimum interference with the roads or easy dismantling before reconstruction. Next, the technology may be incorporated into a line structure any time.
Form of Intellectual Property Protection
- software protected by copyright
- lower costs for the monitoring system implementation
- resistance to electromagnetic interference
- identification of vehicle size
- passive sensor
