Workplace Description
Centre for Energy and Environmental Technologies (CEET) is a university institute at VSB – Technical University of Ostrava focused on research and development in the field of low-carbon and sustainable energy in line with the principles of the circular economy. Our scientific and research activities focus primarily on materials research, the use of recycled materials and alternative energy sources, energy storage, conversion, and management, as well as environmental aspects and technologies.

Job Description

Independent experimental or theoretical research in some of the following fields: Energy, Chemistry, Physics, Materials science, Nanotechnology, Environmental Technology;
Participation in research activities and projects;
Presentation of the results at international conferences and workshops;
Publishing high-quality scientific papers.

PhD (or equivalent) in some of the following fields: Energy, Chemistry, Physics, Materials science, Nanotechnology, Environmental Technology;
Independence;

Additional Information

We will accept incoming Ph.D. holders who have obtained their Ph.D. abroad, of non-Czech nationality, who are not residents of the Czech Republic or have not spent more than 12 months in the Czech Republic in the last 36 months,

Ph.D. holders of Czech nationality who have long-term experience abroad. Long-term foreign experience can be considered to be at least 12 continuous months out of the last 36 months, either in the form of doctoral studies abroad or in the form of employment at a foreign scientific institution, or in combination.

Candidate must be no more than 5 years post PhD (career breaks e.g. maternity/parental leave; long-term illness are not counted).
