The Nanotechnology Centre, and Centre of Energy and Environmental Technologies, at the VSB–Technical University of Ostrava is seeking highly motivated, ambitious and interdisciplinary post-doctoral scientists in the fields of nanomaterials, catalysis (photo- electro- , generally all aspects of heterogeneous catalysis) and in electrochemical energy storage. The ideal candidates should have a strong background in the field, evident from their publication record. The work focuses on interdisciplinary research aimed at understanding the challenges and identifying innovative solutions by designing and leveraging the properties of advanced (nano)materials and methodologies. The synthesized materials will be thoroughly characterized and tested for the targeted application and beyond, such as in energy conversion, catalysis, and photocatalysis via the interaction with other team members. The successful applicants will become part of a focused and motivated international team with exceptional infrastructure available at the lab.
The Materials-Envi Laboratory of the Nanotechnology Centre focuses on the development of new carbon-based materials and metal compounds using approaches from surface chemistry and atomic engineering. Advanced low- dimensional materials and single-atom systems are applied primarily in technologies for solar energy conversion, energy storage, heterogeneous catalysis, water purification, and biomedicine.
