Over the next two years, the supercomputers Barbora and Karolina at the IT4Innovations National Supercomputing Center will be replaced. Like all electronic devices, they become outdated, and after roughly five to six years of operation, they need to be upgraded.

VSB – Technical University of Ostrava earns spot in the THE Impact Rankings 2024
In the THE Impact Rankings 2024, which evaluates universities based on their efforts to fulfill the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), VSB – Technical University of Ostrava (VSB-TUO) once again makes the list. The University improved its overall score year-on-year, securing a position in the 601st-800th range. As in the previous year, VSB-TUO was ranked in seven areas, showing improvement in four of them.

In the 25th anniversary edition of the Werner von Siemens Awards for 2022, which recognizes the best students, young researchers, and teachers in technical and natural science fields, representatives of VSB – Technical University of Ostrava (VSB-TUO) achieved great success. In the overall number of awards, the university ranked second, behind the Czech Technical University in Prague and Charles University.
