However, the university continues to open a second round of admissions, mainly due to the unfulfilled capacities in some study programmes. The greatest interest has traditionally been in fields such as economics and management or marketing (Faculty of Economics), informatics (Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Informatics), civil engineering (Faculty of Civil Engineering) or mechanical engineering (Faculty of Mechanical Engineering). The increased interest is evident across all stages of study – from bachelor's programmes to follow-up master's and doctoral studies.
"We strive to offer students not only a high-quality education, but also a modern and inspiring environment. This academic year we opened a new Faculty of Economics building right on the university campus and in the future there will also be a CPIT TL4 centre, which will be equipped with top laboratories for testing autonomous control and robotic systems," said Professor Václav Snášel, Rector of VSB-TUO.
The university remains in regular contact with high school students, offering excursions, Open Days and guided tours of the campus. There is a great deal of interest in these every year – even this year all deadlines have been fully filled. VSB-TUO has long been building on the practical application of its graduates, which is confirmed by the strong demand from employers. "There is a great deal of interest in our graduates. We welcomed more than 100 companies and 3,300 visitors to the Job Fair Career+, which took place in March this year," added Rector Snášel. All information regarding the study offer as well as the deadlines for the next rounds of the admission procedure can be found on the university website.
In addition, the university won the prestigious School Recommended by Employers poll for the third time in a row this year, confirming its strong position in the higher education market and the confidence of the professional public in its graduates.
