Description

The new people search and rescue method is based on radio waves emitted by commonly used mobile phones. The
method is suitable for search and rescue activities during winter sports and related risks, as well as in the summer. The method is both for the open landscape and urban agglomerations.

Researchers from VSB-TUO have developed a method that significantly increases the chances of people localisation in emergencies. The method is based on the use of common technical devices (mobile phones) that almost everybody carries. For this reason, there is no need for an additional transmitter used in emergencies, or to have it available and active.
