ENET Centre - Energy Units for Utilization of Non-traditional Energy Sources

Description

These days, it is important to search for and identify as effective uses of energy as possible. Along with an increase in the importance of renewables, thequantity of energy produced from renewable sources of energy may fluctuate and cause problems. The team headed by professor Mišák has innovated the technology of an output balancer to control energy flows between the operator of the local distribution system and small decentralised units, such as a house, residence complex, or micro-regions, who use energy from renewables and may also accumulate it. Thanks to the new balancer, energy costs are reduced, particularly due to the use of surplus energy from local decentralised sources to cover for an energy deficit at the level of the distribution system. The benefit for the decentralised source operators is the maximisation of the generated energy use as well as maximum financial benefits. An advantage for the distribution system operators is the exploitation of the regulation potential of the decentralised units in the cases of energy shortage or surplus.
