In the second half of April, a meeting of five continents took place at VSB-TUO. During three weeks, partners from ITESO, Universidad Jesuita de Guadalajara (Mexico), Tafila Technical University (Jordan), Christ's University in Pacific (Kingdom of Tonga) and Arab Academy for Science, Technology & Maritime Transport (Egypt) took turns at VSB-TUO. All these universities are our partners in the Erasmus+ program: International Credit Mobility, cooperation with them started at the beginning of this academic year, or in 2019 in the case of the Jordanian university.
Our guests came to us to teach students, to develop cooperation within this and other projects, or just get know-how, how it works at a modern Central European university. During their visit, they had lunch with the rector, spoke at the faculties and got to know the university campus and the city center. Cooperation with partners within the project will last at least another two years, and students from these universities are expected already next academic year.
The trip was financed from the funds of the Erasmus+ program, key action 1: Educational mobility of individuals (GA Nr. 2022-1-CZ01-KA171-HED-000074280). The Erasmus+ program is the largest EU program to support education and enables exchanges between program and partner countries.
VSB-TUO successfully participated in the 2022 call, when six out of nine requests for cooperation were supported. In practice, this means that the university has received funding in the amount of EUR 297 398 for a total of 94 mobilities for the next 36 months.
