The delegation from VSB – Technical University of Ostrava visited a partner university in Kazakhstan from 23 May to 27 May. The representatives of the Faculty of Economics, the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science and the University International Office met with their counterparts from the Kazakh-British Technical University, based in Kazakhstan's largest city in Almaty.

The Director of the Appraisal Institute Ing. Vladimir Kulil, Ph.D.; Assoc. Prof. Ing. Jiří Balcar, Ph.D. from the Department of Economics and Assoc. Prof. Ing. Pavel Krömer, Vice-Dean for International Cooperation of the FEECS discussed at KBTU the study options for Kazakh students and the possibilities of the scientific and research cooperation and joint projects. During the week, they visited the laboratories and facilities of the partner university and offered other types of cooperation, such as  doctoral study programs at VSB-TUO.

The representatives of the University International Office Michaela Vráželová and Jakub Němec introduced the services for incoming exchange students, i. e. the welcome office at VSB-TUO International Contact Point.

During the summer semester, one student from the Faculty of Economics spent his exchange semester at KBTU and 3 Kazakh students studied at VSB-TUO.

The study visit and the student exchanges at VSB-TUO were financed from the Erasmus+ project International Credit Mobility (GA Nr. 2019-1-CZ01-KA107-060555).
