Summary
Introduction to probability, Discrete and continuous random variables, Numerical characteristics of random variables, Exploratory data analysis, Point and interval estimations of parameters, Hypothesis testing, Simple linear regression model.
Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit
This is an introductory course in statistics. The aim is to understand of statistical methods for data analysis. Students will be able to interpret results of basic statistical analysis in a selected statistical software. The theory behind statistical tools and procedures will be described as well. Lectures will be in English. It is necessary to complete Mathematics 1 and Mathematics 2 courses or their equivalents.

2. Discrete and Continuous random variables
3. Numerical characteristics of random variables
4. Exploratory data analysis
5. Point and interval estimations of parameters
6. Hypothesis testing
7. Simple linear regression model.
