Summary
The course continues on the subject "Thermomechanics".
The subject insightfully deals with types of heat transfer, steady-state/unsteady-state one/multi dimensional conduction, natural and forced convection, radiative heat transfer.
The knowledge can be applied in all enery engineering branches, to the calculation and design of heat exchangers, boilers, heat loss calculation etc.
Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit
Students will intimately learn about types of heat transfer - conduction, convection and radiation. This knowledge is essential for the basic energy calculations and can be applied in other mechanical engineering lessons and branches.
Course Contents
- Types of thermal energy transfer.
- Steady state conduction and heat transfer.
- Unsteady state heat conduction.
- Heat exchange by convection - convection out change of state, convection during change of state.
- Radiation heat transfer- radiation in closed systém, radiation in opened system, view factor.
- Radiation from gases, vapours and flames.
- Thermal screening.
- Heat exchangers.
