Summary
This object continues on ČaMS. All at once it uses student’s knowledge of the
Mechanics, the Elasticity and Strength and the Engineering Materials. The aim
is the better knowledge of the execution and function of basic machine parts
and mechanisms which were solved in ČaMS. Their design and loading capacity is
executed on higher technical level including dynamic and basic fatigue
calculations.
Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit
Students will master grounding of fatigue calculations and optimization of fundamental machine parts at the master level. They will intesify their knowledge of machine parts they have learned in Machine Parts and Mechanisms.
Course Contents
Basic of fatigue loading – Wöhler’s and Smith’s diagrams.
Bolt connection with preload – full loading capacity calculation from the fatigue point of view.
Bolt connection with preload – completion.
Dimensioning of the clamp connection between a shaft and a hub.
Forces and stress analyses of press fitted connection with full and hollow peg.
Dynamic calculation of a shaft when it is combined loaded.
Optimization of shaft supports. Bearing design. Equivalent loading.
How to design a helical V type gearing.
Optimization of geometrical, meshing and sliding parameters of spur and helical gearing.
Loading capacity calculation of gears by ČSN, ISO.
Problems with spur and helical gears loading capacity calculation.
Clutch and couplings, their design and calculations of selected types.
Clutch and couplings – completion. Brakes, their division, calculations of selected types.
Springs – their divisions, characteristics, stiffness, design and calculations.
