Summary
Student will be introduced into the structure of telecommunication networks which part are the access network. The access network can be divided into metallic, optic and wireless. There will be given the information about basic characteristic, principles and interfaces of each area. Student will be able to characterize now-a-day technologies and development trends as well.
Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit
Understand the technologies used in access networks.

Learning outcomes are set so that the students are able to identify and apply tasks in the field of access networks.
Course Contents
Lectures:

Structure of telecommunication networks, access networks, metodology of access to common tranfer medium
Access metodology used in acess networks - TDMA, FDMA, WDMA, SCMA, CDMA.
Interface between access network and local node, groupe of protocols of Interface V5.
Metalic access network, features of metalic line, link code, modulation
Access technology xDSL, digital loops IDSL, ADSL, VDSL, BDSL.
Optical access networks, features of OLT and ONU, optical distribution network, PON and AON.
Narrowband optical networks, features and control.
Distribution, optical and hybrid access networks.
Multifunction broadband access networks.
Radio access networks.
DECT.
Bluetooth.
Systems of 802.11 standard.
Access networks in Europe, development and trends.

Exercises:
Safety in Laboratory, Overview of Praktical Lectures, Punctual Classification.
