Summary
Object contend is apprise of principles physical, physico-chemical and
biochemical processes, used in technology mineral raw materiale and wastes.
Part of lextures and practising contents there are examples o applications
particulare technological processes in laboratory and operational conditions
of preparation and processing coal, mineral and non-mineral raw materiale and waste water treatment.
Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit
The subject reaches to characterize fundamental technical terms of preparation of raw materials and technological processes of dressing. It explains details on the bases of the individual dressing methods. Experimental verification in laboratories is carried out on the basis of the gained information.
Course Contents
1. Substance and purpose of mineral dressing, selection of processing method. Basic concepts and characteristics of technological processes of raw material preparation.
2. Main dressing processes; their classification according to principle. Physical, physical-chemical and chemical separation processes and their basic technological characteristics.
3. Gravity technologies of concentration of mineral (and secondary) resources, both static and dynamic, theoretical substance and possible applications.
4. Magnetic, electric, photometric and radiometric separation procedures of mineral dressing, theoretical substance and possible applications.
5. Physical-chemical and chemical preparation methods of substances and raw materials, the substance of the individual technological modification of flotation. Technological characteristics of pyro- and hydrometallurgical processes of preparation of material and concentrates.
6. Analysis of possible preparation and recycling of secondary raw materials. Principles of applicable technologies, potential applications from the sphere of heavy industry material processing.
7. Evaluation of dressability and possible methods of both mineral and secondary materials – methodical procedure, practical examples. Efficiency assessment of substance classification.
8. Theoretical essentials of soupádnosti, calculation of terminal velocities and coefficient of soupádnosti. Applicability of stalling speeds in the study of the following processes: sedimentation, hydraulic classification, gravity concentration.
9. Auxiliary dressing processes, their classification. Dewatering and drying of coarse-grained and fine-grained substances and suspensions, principles and applicability.
10. Technical-technological characteristics of drainage bins, separators, centrifuges, filters and drying rooms.
