1. Introduction to the study of general biology
2. Characteristics of living organisms, importance of organisms in the biosphere
3. Chemical composition of living organisms, importance of water and basic organic substances
4. Basic cytology: general structure of the cell, overview of basic cell organelles,
5. Developmental differences between prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells, differences between plant, animal and fungal cells
6. Cell physiology basics: cell cycle, cell division patterns, cell death
7. Basics of cell physiology: uptake and release of substances by the cell, basic biochemistry, basic metabolic pathways, catabolic and anabolic reactions
8. Basic cell physiology: photosynthesis
9. Basic cell genetics: genome characteristics, importance of genes, mutagens and carcinogens
10. Basic genomics: differences in genomes of prokaryotic and eukaryotic organisms, genomes of model organisms, functional genomics and its importance
11. Plant biology: plant tissues, plant organs, plant systems and evolution
12. Animal biology: animal tissues, organs and organ systems, animal system and evolution
