Summary |

The subject is focused on understanding the main causes, forms and importance of international trade in the long-term historical connections and with respect to the current trends in the development of the global economy. After successfully finishing the course, the students will be able to solve the individual trade cases in the conditions of the Czech memberships in the European Union. |

1.The introduction of the course - The principle of international trade. The determination of the main terms, the substance and causes of international trade. The main corners in the development of international trade.
2.The importance of international trade for the world economy, the rate of economic openness, balance of payments.
3.The importance and instruments of international trade.
4.The globalisation of trade flows and the determination of the main trade centres in the world.
5.The sources of comparative advantages and factors that influence their changes.
6.Trade policy - the principle of protectionism and liberal trade policy, multilateral trading system.
7.Trade liberalisation and international organizations(WTO, UNCTAD, OECD, WB).
8.The Common Commercial Policy of the European Union.
9.The foreign trade policy of the Czech Republic before its entrance into the European Union, the forms and possibilities of enforcing the Czech trade interests in the European Union.
10.Regionalism in the world economy and regional trade agreements.
11.International trade and developing countries.
12.Foreign direct investments and trade flows.
13.Trade defence instruments.
14.Trade disputes and the mechanism of the dispute settlement in the WTO.
