Safe University

VSB-TUO places a significant emphasis on the safety of its employees and students. Creating a stable and safe environment is one of the University's core values. Part of the overall approach to safety is not only physical safety but also social safety.

Physical safety and security at the University involves not only ensuring safety, particularly at work, but also creating an environment where risks of danger are eliminated to the greatest extent possible. This includes measures such as the availability of first aid kits, automatic defibrillators, training staff and students on the correct procedures to follow in the event of danger, and the implementation of security mechanisms such as access control or monitoring of premises. The aim is to provide a safe environment that protects the health and lives of everyone in the VSB-TUO environment.

The security measures also include CCTV systems (available in Czech only), the operation of which is regulated by the applicable legislation and the data obtained from these devices is stored in accordance with data protection regulations.

Social safety is an integral part of a safe university environment. Promoting social safety is about creating an environment where all students and employees feel respected, protected and supported. Achieving social safety includes preventing and responding to discrimination, harassment and violence, including gender-based violence and cyber violence.

The University has clear policies and accessible mechanisms for reporting incidents. As part of social safety, the University should be a place where diversity is not only tolerated but actively encouraged as a source of enrichment.
