The University supports social safety by emphasising equal opportunities for all employees and students regardless of their gender, age, nationality or other differences. The University actively seeks to prevent inappropriate behaviour such as harassment or bullying and promotes zero tolerance for any form of discrimination. These policies create an environment based on respect, inclusion and mutual trust.
Inappropriate behaviour can create an unpleasant study or work environment and have adverse consequences for those affected. It does not only occur on university premises during classes, consultations or working hours.
It can also manifest itself in various forms outside of these spaces, for example during university excursions, stays in university halls of residence, activities in university clubs or joint study preparation. It can also spill over into the virtual environment of social networks.
If you encounter or witness inappropriate behaviour or unethical conduct, either directly or indirectly, you can contact the university ombudspersons. They handle all complaints sensitively and confidentially, providing expert advice and support to all students and employees at VSB-TUO.
