Summary
Students of the subject will be introduced to fundamental laws and described
parameters needed to a mathematic and physical description of a bulk solid
behavior. Especially, a core of the subject will be turned to a storage system
proposal. Latest knowledge of the rapidly growing branch: nanotechnology will
be presented here also. There will be demonstrated measurement methods
following interpretation of measured values in the subject
Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit
The aim of the course is to deepen knowledge of the measurement of mechanical - physical properties of bulk materials, the possibility of using modern laboratory techniques to predict a variety of conditions of transport and process equipment.
Course Contents
Content of exercises and seminars
1. Credit conditions
2. Measurement of the granulometric parameters of the selected particulate material
3. Measurement of the rheological parameters of the selected particulate material
4. Measurement of mechanical - physical properties of particulate material - angle of external friction
5. Measurement of mechanical - physical properties of particulate material - angle of internal friction
6. Measurement of humidity and angle of repose of particulate material
7. Measurement of spring characteristics intended for vibrating conveyors
8. Verification of Euler's relations on the traction disk of the elevator machine
9. Measurement of pressure loss in pneumatic transport pipelines
