Summary
It is a second subject from area of automatic control theory and deals with digital control systems. Students will learn about Z transform, sampling and recostruction of signals, digital PID controller, state space representation, state space controllers and observers desing.
Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit
Students will be able to:
- use Z transform
- discretize continuous system
- explain function of digital controller PID
- describe continuous state space systems
- design controllers with pole placement method
- use state observers in state feedback loops

- Introduction & motivation,
- Basics of Z-transform theory,
- Sampling and reconstruction of signals,
- Case study: PID digital control,
- Continuous time state space systems and their quantization,
- Realization theory,
- Controller design via poles placement,
- Observers and their use in state feedback loops.
