Distribution, classification and mechanical properties of transported
materials. Introduction to theory and practical aplications of transport
equipment and technologies used in mining industry. Basic calculations of a
haulage capacity, resistance to motion, drive power etc.
Description of continuous mechanical handling equipment used in mining
Description of intermittent mining transport technologies, such as locomotive
haulage, free steered vehicles, wire rope haulage systems, mono and duo rails
tarnsport. Mine winding, winding systems, winding engines.
Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit
To master basic principles of functions commonly used transport facilities and equipment and handling techniques. Meet the basics of their construction and technological calculations. Part of the course is also familiar with transported materials, sorting, and storage properties.
Course Contents
Introduction, objectives and allocation of transport. Transported materials, their physicochemical
mechanical properties. The basic equation of motion. The calculation of traffic performance.
Requirements for the major mining processes on the transport. Theory of transmission of force by friction.
The basic method of determining the tensile strength. Towing elements used in transport.
Belt conveyor. The main part, the basics of computing.
Lanopásový conveyor. Scraper conveyor. The main part, the basics of computing.
Chain conveyor. Vibrating conveyor. Transport in the pipeline. Own transport weight.
Rail transport - rail track, rolling stock.
Determination of rolling resistance of vehicles. Principles of calculating locomotive transport.
Transport rope. Suspension lift.
Hanging to the right. Special ground track. Automobile traffic.
Storage of bulk materials - containers and their closures.
Drop. Basic calculations.
Mining equipment, division and classification. Ropes for vertical transport.
Mining machinery. Transport container.
Winding towers. Mining pit. Buffers and runs cars. The filling and discharge stations SKIP.

Exercises and workshops
Introduction to the exercise program. Requirements for credit. Basic parameters bulk materials.
The basic equation of motion, setting-up time of the conveyor belt.
Calculation of the transport performance of continuous and intermittent traffic.
Tow-rope elements, chain, conveyor belt - determining the basic strength parameters and load tension elements. The analysis of tractive forces in the towing lement.
Graphic-numerical method of determining tensile strength.
Calculation of the conveyor belt according to ISO 263102 and ISO 5048th

Calculation and design of traffic vibration. Calculation and design of transport and pipeline transport

Calculation of rolling resistance of rail vehicles, the basic parameters of railway track.
