SThe course focuses on the theoretical foundations, technological principles, and industrial applications of modern methods of welding, brazing, and material cutting (e.g., plasma welding, electron beam welding, laser welding, electroslag welding, ultrasonic welding, diffusion welding, explosive welding, aluminothermic welding, friction welding, flux-cored arc welding, electrogas welding, arc stud welding, plasma cutting, laser cutting, waterjet cutting, flame gouging, carbon arc gouging, etc.).
Students will become familiar with the physical principles of individual processes, equipment design, technological parameters, quality control, economic aspects, as well as possibilities for automation and robotization of manufacturing processes. mphasis is placed on comparing the methods in terms of their suitability for specific materials, thicknesses, and operating conditions, for example in nuclear power plants.

The aim of the course is to:
• Provide students with deeper knowledge of the physical principles of modern welding, brazing, and material cutting methods.
• Familiarize students with technological parameters, adjustment options, and process control.
• Teach students to evaluate the suitability of individual methods for specific applications.
• Develop the ability to assess the quality of welded joints and identify possible defects.
• Prepare students for the practical application of these technologies in industrial practice.
Special welding methods include, for example: plasma welding, electron beam welding, laser welding, electroslag welding, ultrasonic welding, diffusion welding, explosion welding, aluminothermic welding, friction welding, welding with flux-cored electrodes, electrogas welding, electric arc stud welding, metal cutting by plasma, laser and water jet, flame gouging, and carbon arc gouging.
