Grading system at VSB-TUO corresponds to National Grading Scheme of the Czech Republic.
According to the STUDY AND EXAMINATION REGULATIONS FOR STUDY IN BACHELOR’S AND MASTER’S DEGREE PROGRAMMES AT VSB – TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY OF OSTRAVA (Study and Examination Regulations), the results of the examination are quantified by means of a point system compatible with ECTS, by awarding points and marks according to the national grading scheme. The entry of a classification grade in the information system is realized by entering marks, verbal expression through national classification levels, and the date and signature of the examiner; the corresponding numbers are entered in the information system. They are granted in harmony with the national grading scheme and the ETCS classification is shown in the following table.

At VSB-TUO we use ECTS credits to express the student workload needed in order to achieve expected learning outcomes. At VSB - Technical University of Ostrava 60 ECTS credits are allocated to the workload of a full-time academic year, 30 ECTS credits are normally allocated to a semester.
